I deleted the post since it has returned to normal this morning, and I didn't think anyone else was having the problem since there was no response.
    Thanks though.

Gfycat may have temporarily changed the html they were using. That may happen from time to time and the bookmarklet may need updated to match it.

There's a thing called a "protocol relative url" where Gfycat could leave out the http/https and the browser would fill in the appropriate one depending on what the page itself is using. That would work for their purposes in using that thumb that isn't even displayed. But, as it is, the bookmarklet wouldn't know to add the http back in for our purposes.

That's my best guess, anyway. If they did change their html, it looks like it's back to normal now.

I've taken a screenshot however I cannot post it here or any place on this forum. I'm currently using the 'mobile style' to post here. I have no buttons eg. abc, smilies, bold etc either.
The problem started over a week ago. In every thread/section & pm, all I get is a darkened box (which is grey in colour) that I cannot click on to reply. The reply box is normally white at my end, & my cursor flashes in the box,& I can type. However, the "grey box" won't allow me to type a reply. I use ie8, & have been using it for ages. I have not added add ons or extensions, or changed anything.

If you like I will post my email, whereas I can upload the screenshot. As I stated vB4 default style won't allow me to post/upload anything.

I'm not sure about your screenshot problem without more details. But, I see vaguely what is happening with your original problem.

I tried it in IE8 and got the same result. The problem is that the editor requires JavaScript, but some of the JS for one of the ads is causing a JavaScript error in IE8. When it encounters an error like that, it stops execution of further JS and never gets as far as building the editor.

For our part, it's not an error we can fix directly because the JS is served from the ad provider, but maybe we can contact the ad provider and get them to fix it. Or, maybe we could stop trying to serve the ad JS to IE8 altogether.

But, for your part, I would highly—highly—suggest that you use a different browser than IE8 not just for the sake of fixing the Phun bug, but just in general for your own security. Neither WinXP nor IE8 are supported by Microsoft anymore and tend to be highly vulnerable to attack. I would even move off of XP if you can, but at least use Chrome or Firefox instead of IE.

Yes I know, thanks. I used it to crop the photo, as the initial message I got was " the file is too big to upload" or something along those lines. So I cropped the photo, then the message I got was "this is not a valid image file"?

Which list(s) are you using and is the domain or url actually blocked? Using AdBlock Plus, you can click the icon and select "open blockable items". Look for the yzus09by.com url and if it's blocked it should be in red. If it's green or black that means it's either specifically allowing it or not doing anything either way. But, whatever addon you are using, make sure the domain is actually blocked because I don't see it on the "Easy List" that a lot of them use by default.

As for why it's behaving differently than before, you aren't the first to report it. But, as far as I can see, its the same as it's always been. There's always been a pop-under that opens that url or one like it that then redirects to Live Jasmin. I don't know why people are seeing different behavior suddenly, but I would guess that it's the result of the ad company changing something in their JS (we just include a small snippet that loads their JS in dynamically). Whatever the case, the pop-under is supposed to be there and should show up about once per day or session unless you choose to block it.

I have never seen that option before so I did a little research. I think it's only available on Firefox where Adblock Plus is on version 2.6, while in all other browsers it's only on version 1.8.

I'm not sure why yet, but we seem to have had some kind of spike, in bandwidth at the least. And, even when I first signed on, long after these problems, there were close to 4K concurrent users. That's about 33% more than usual as far as I've noticed.

Something, probably the master DB, likely crashed or something under that much load.

This sounds like you reached one of the read-only servers that hadn't received updates from the (likely crashed) master DB. It then caught up after the master recovered. So, the posts were always there (on the master) you were just reading from a server with temporarily stale info.

Do we not show who all the Mods are now?

Only Admins are displayed on the Forum Leaders page, and each forum no longer lists who Mods that forum.

GreenBastard are currently reworking the display in that area. The thought are that us older mods should work as global moderators so to speak something inbetween mods and admins. So we are looking into some ideas how to show it.

The line is a little subtle, wouldn't color choices be better?

i agree with you there. I have Always prefered a color difference between admins and moderators atleast. So there is some sort of distinction between them.
