  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

It seems weird that I post a tutorial on a subject and start by saying there is no one right way to do these things but that truly is the case.
There are however rules or issues that I follow and they seem to work for me.

This is a quick hit for me. It's sort of a "what goes where" kind of thing. The way things are done can be a totally different post.

1: Never have a huge close-up of a face anywhere. Pics like this are a bit too much! Forget the size of the photo...notice how there isn't a lot of room around the face to work with. The only exception would be an image that gives some room to work with like this one but even that offers a bit of thought due to her face facing to one side. You want that photo as far right as possible to accommodate the profile direction. And of course if she's facing the other direction she goes far left on the collage photo

2: Also photos like this should be for specific spots. Her right arm (your left side) is cut off from the rest of the pic and therefore the pic should be placed on the left edge (so any cutoff images should be placed on the side where you see the cutoff). If her right arm is not seen, you put the photo on the left

3: Arms on the side are not a good idea because the arm(s) take up room that can be used for other pics and if given the choice, I don't like to overlap pics that often

3: If full body shots are accessible I try not to get the floor if possible. I also try to get mirror images that give some sort of compliment to the other pic like this and this...full body in opposite directions.
