  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    20x the traffic is going to tax even the best hosting. If the increase was going to be more of a permanent thing I'm sure changes could be made, and afforded.

    The thread was created to separate whining about known issues from the thread for reporting technical issues.

    Your derogatory reaction to my effort to keep people informed was not appreciated.

    There are plenty of places for baseless complaining.

    You are right, 'useless' would have been a much better word there.

    I, and the other mods, have no access to alter any of this extra traffic.
    Nor do I have anything to gain from 'making excuses' ... would you prefer we just left you in the dark about it?

    Smoopy, I enjoy some of your ascerbic wit and dry humour, but do you really think we're total incompetents here, or that we enjoy inflicting misery on our members (and ourselves)? If you noticed some of our activity stats you'd have noticed that we've been coping with up to 10 times our usual traffic levels (as Scribe mentions they've had elsewhere) because of these silly so-called celeb girls and their allegedly leaked private images. Both Scribe and I independently considered closing the forum to protect it, but ultimately the owner, cayne, decided that in spite of the inevitable degradation of performance for the whole forum we should welcome the increased Celebrity Extra activity, presumably in the hope that some of our new visitors might ultimately stick around and add value to our community?

    So ride the waves and go with the flow, Smoopy! And smile, it's life-enhancing!

    I'm a very short term member but I wondered, can you give your long term members access whilst putting non-members into a queue? I saw that happen on Black Friday and it's a very clever way to mitigate massive bursts of traffic. At least that way the people that matter can do what they do best while people like myself can wait a while for capacity.

    I'm bummed by the site the last week but it's really the only place I go for celebs or to post gifs. There's another site but don't allow commenting and it's arranged by name, not event.

    I don't know anything about website tech.

    I'm lost on the geeky side of computers but can there be a system that puts standard photos (such as celebs at award shows) apart from leaked photos?
    One set of servers has standard pics and another set of servers has leaked stuff.
    Folks that want to see Kate Beckinsale walk down the street won't have to suffer but Kate's homemade sex romp (which isn't a thing) would be on another server and that gets the traffic while not interfering with the standard stuff
