Last nude issue will be Feb 2016 its the end of an era

 

The Feb 2016 issue will be most likely one of their biggest sellers and the March 2016 one of the lowest!

 

Time will tell if it works or not. The few talks on TV that I have seen about it says they won't be showing any fully nudes, so does that mean they will still show topless and butt shots? I grew up Playboy hidden in the closets and/or under the mattress, its a shame their doing this. Someone up in the top ranks of the Magazine thinks this will work. I personally don't think it will and probably won't ever buy one again.

 

They're just just complying with Instagram rules: No nipples, vulva, anus, and definitely no insides. Basically, shit that Cosmo, Allure, Maxim, and every other magazine has used for decades.

Presumably everything else is still on the table, including see-through and everything but. Given their penchant for retouching the fuck out of their models since Marilyn was on the cover, they could make it a thing. Especially since the default Playboy model in an editorial already has a smaller, thinner set of labia than toddlers that they could just Photoshop them out completely. Nipples ... Same deal. Mainly this means a lot more rear view and profile shots (It can be 90%+ profile since they can just edit the errant nipple and areola out), hand bras and hand covered pussies, and shadows over vulvas.

I'm more insulted by the inclusion of a "sex-positive" female sex advice columnist. Fuck that. I want a man who knows what the fuck he's doing giving advice on sex (and relationships, by extension) because we think different—VERY DIFFERENTLY—from woman on how to even approach these questions or even understand what a guy means when he actually asks for advice. No woman is going to tell a guy that his question actually means that he just fell off the fucking turnip truck and his first girlfriend is dumping him without him realizing it (because women can't be fucking direct about any fucking thing), but we've all been there. So, here's what you're going to experience and this is what you do to pick yourself up off the ground after hitting that dirt road hard.

 

Word out now is that Jenny McCarthy wants the spread. I would have preferred somebody under 30 who had never done a nude scene before but who we all want to see get nude.

 

Playboy doesn't make any money from the magazine. They offloaded their digital and tv content to MindGeek. All their profit comes from ads (no nudity = more advertisers) and licensing the playboy brand in Southeast Asia.

 

A skin mag says it will not show skin anymore because its viewership is going down. Did they ever think of taking better pictures?

You know back in the late 70s and early 80s Playboy was really something. It wasn't just a "skin mag" it really did have cool articles on the latest electronics and cars and stuff and the women were beautiful and while retouched still looked like that girl in your neighborhood or class that you would die to see nude. I grew up in one of those places that, as Luke says in Star Wars, "if there's a bright center of the Galaxy this is the furthest spot from it". But Playboy made you feel that, if you were just lucky enough, you could be part of those guys who had cool bachelor pads and drank the best scotch and beautiful women wearing high heels and stockings just drooled over and demanded that you take them. The Centerfold was something and sometimes the PMOTY was on Carson! And slowly it went away. Too much surgery, too much retouching (yeah, that's all Photoshop is and although they always retouched they never used to do it as much as now) and the world turned from Marilyn to Holly Madison. They were special times. DiMaggio and Willie Mays left, Muhammed Ali, Roger the Dodger isn't under center for Dallas anymore and no one has a key to the Playboy Club anymore where the Bunnies are doing "The Bunny Dip" so I guess it's time for Playboy to leave as well. I just wish that they would go out clean, just shut the thing down.

Playboy is still providing new nude shoots for their website. Playmate Chelsiearyn just did a shoot with Holly Randall that will appear this week.

Even though they are no longer printing nudes for the magazine, some of their models are still shooting nudes for the P-plus website. Chelsie was Miss March 2015 and her upcoming shoot is nude.

If Hef's son has his way, he would take over and print nudes again.

 

Playboy has no control of playboyplus, which is operated by Mindgeek.

Playboy Is Bringing Back Nudity a Year After Pledging to Stop Publishing Naked Pictorials

Playboy is returning to its original form.

The magazine announced that nudity will, again, be featured on its pages on Monday – starting with the March/April 2017 issue, titled Naked is Normal.

Chief Creative Officer Connor Hefner – the 25-year-old son of Hugh Hefner – simultaneously tweeted, “I’ll be the first to admit that the way in which the magazine portrayed nudity was dated, but removing it entirely was a mistake. Nudity was never the problem because nudity isn’t a problem. Today, we’re taking our identity back and reclaiming who we are.”

In fall 2015, then-Playboy CEO Scott Flanders announced that the magazine would no longer publish nude photoshoots of women.

Cory Jones, chief content officer of Playboy, said that the nudity-free makeover was meant to make the magazine “a little more accessible, a little more intimate.”

Hefner, 90, first published Playboy in 1953 with Marilyn Monroe on the cover and in risqué photos inside. In the years that followed, Playboy became known for its full-frontal pictorials.

The new return to nudity won’t be quite as NSFW, though, with the March/April issue only displaying breasts and butts.
