POLL Calling all other OCD collectors; when is enough, enough?

And how do you stop? And how do you part with all you've collected?

I have a huge catalog of models and celebs, both images and videos, that I collect and collect and collect, despite the fact that, once saved, it's unlikely I will ever peruse those files again. It just feels like I'm saving history. And trust me, even internet history doesn't survive.

Most of my porn is old, especially the images. PornHub is a great archive for old and new porn films. Where should I archive my images so they'll last? For the erotic image archives, I'm talking about complete sets. I have nearly 300 complete sets for Erica Campbell, who retired 11 years ago, and those 300 sets are just a taste of her total career.

Can we archive old erotica on phun? Old images that have been so reproduced that no one would target them with a DMCA notice?

I've got lots of pics of models who have retired (or passed on) who no legal authority cares about anymore, but whose content we should definitely care about. Is there a way we can sample and respect the current content being produced, while at the same time preserving in toto the old content that we love?

I have 1.85 million pictures and videos and regularly go back to a core group of about 150,000.

 

I go through my collection and reassess the porn that I have. I delete a lot but still keep much.

 

I was a mod for a few Yahoo fan sites back in the day, I have millions of photos of some of the originals- Aria, Nikki Nova, Chrissy M, Sandee Westgate, just tons of shit. on floppys, CD's, etc I would love to see it preserved in a way that it would be easier to access

You can pretty much find anything on demand now anyway, no?

Terrible to say, but what if you died and someone found all of that shit? Would you want them to remember you by that?

 

I guess because I've been collecting for such a long time I don't want to get rid of anything. All my photos are on one 2TB external drive. I don't know how many pics in total I have. I've got them subdivided into separate folders either for the model's name or the particular subject. Clover has her own folder, Celebrities have their own, Beach pics their own, etc., etc. I've probably got over 100 separate folders. When I first started collecting I never renamed anything or really identified pics so I've got thousands of unidentified pics just floating around on the hard drive.

Now for videos I've probably got close to 20TB worth scattered across 10 different hard drives. I was using 2TB WD Passport drives but I've recently started using 3TB drives. Having fiber optic internet speed makes it easier to download even the biggest video files which is probably why I collect so much.

I guess I could be called a porn hoarder.

 

I try to moderate the stuff I keep. I only download pics from about 10% of the sets I view. I try to only grab pics from sets that I could imagine viewing again (not that I ever actually will). I regularly go through my porn scenes and cull my collection. I try to limit my collection to “only” 3,000 scenes.

Consider your collecting a hobby. It’s less expensive and more pleasurable than most!

 

I keep all my shit encrypted for this very reason.

 

If all they find is naked women, straight and lesbian porn no one would care, but if they find shady stuff or material that contradicts who they thought you were, then you'd have a problem, but you'd be dead and wouldn't know or care.

If a porn collection is the only thing you have to worry about after you've died, I'd say your doing pretty damn good in life.

 

I am right there with you, I have a huge collection on this laptop and I want to move them to a flash drive before I destroy the hard drive on the laptop. Half of me is saying letting it go but the other half is saying NO!!!!

Either way, the Blacked and Blacked Raw collection will remain.
