There has been some rather swift changes on the crew over the last 24 hours. I think its for the best if we let the dust settle and get on with posting as normal in here for the time being. We definitly need to define what Counts as a celebrity and how and where they should be posted due to the new interactive World we live in. Im probably not the right person to say this is right or wrong. That is why i will leave this thread as sort of a debate thread post your thoughts on it both contributors and visitors of the great pics being posted. Take your time people give it a thought and we'll see if we cant find a good solution. :)

    Nothing so dramatic!

On the business of definitions of celebrities, this crops up at regular intervals so don't overwork it.
And remember that the more specific and fragmented definitions that one adopts, the more likely it becomes that some people will fall across the cracks!

It's an interesting discussion... When does a celeb stop being a celeb...is Ashley Judd still a celeb despite not having any TV/Movie roles for a few years? (As an example).

Does a glamour model become a celeb if she starts doing regular acting?

An other aspect, when does a normal person become a celebrity? Are the people on sites like Youtube celebrities?

I think a distinction has to be made between famous people (i.e the Kardashians) and actual celebrities. Real celebs are actresses, singers, athletes and famous models. I don't consider social media models/youtubers celebrities, no matter how many millions of followers they have.

So Jscribe quit because of the Maitlan Ward pornstar business? I see that. Celebrity is just a loose title around here.

Celebrity is literally defined as a famous person especially in entertainment or sports, or the state of being well known.

To say that especially the kardashians aren’t ‘real celebrities’ is a bit insane. They are some of the most well known people in the world no matter what or who you follow everyone knows them, they’re celebrities by definition and just about everything else, hell they even have multiple tv shows to cover your very tight self definition of what a celebrity is.

I think with Youtuber’s or things of that like it’s completely follower dependent. If they have numbers on social media where they’re well known to the point that they’re more famous than actual celebrities then they’re celebrities, but if you’re posting an Instagram model with 150k followers I would say that’s way to small of a fan base.

I literally just had to google Ashley Judd to find out who she was and I have a large catalog of celebrities that I know and I have no problem with older women, but I’ve genuinely not seen anything she was in apart from Olympus has fallen, and I bet if you asked a large group of people if they knew any Kardashian or Judd more people would know the former, and the same could be said of probably hundreds of social media stars, you could have the most obscure actress ever like Heather Paige Cohn who comes to mind for me and she’s been in lots of stuff, but let’s face it she’s not a celebrity just because she’s an actress who’s been the lead in stuff that’s even been on Netflix, hell shes not even verified on social media

I've been coming here for over ten years. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to see a nice body because I thought someone was mis-categorized. So I just don't see the fuss. I saw the Maitlan Ward discussion and didn't chime in, cause I really don't care where she is. I do like seeing her big boobies, and as long as I can poke around and find them, I'm happy no matter where they are. Maybe that's just me.

I personally haven’t seen/didn’t see the Maitland Ward thing (not sure if it’s been deleted) so I’m not sure who took what side, what their points are or what transpired. Although judging that it seems to have lead to this thread I think it’s a weird one that she’s the one who caused the discussion considering the whole her being a pornstar shouldn’t really be relevant since she was a main cast member on Boy Meets World for a bit, and also has appeared in a pretty big films in White Chicks. But anyways I’m not trying to start that argument again, just more interested in what transpired

Anybody that is well known is a celebrity. In terms of this website I would only exclude those who are only famous for modelling or porn. If they are famous for anything else, like Maitland Ward, then they should count as a celebrity, even if they decide to move towards modelling or even porn in the future. Works the other way around too, I'd say. If someone originally famous for modelling or porn suddenly becomes famous in any other career, then they should count as a celebrity as well.

I personally think while someone can start as a celebrity, that status is not permanent. It's possible for your fame to drop sufficiently that you no longer qualify.

Maitland Ward is such a case, her chosen route to make money would now disqualify her from celebrity events.

    My $0.02.

The biggest problem is when someone posts, there are people who post things like "Who?", "this person is not a celebrity", etc. No one knows or has a comprehensive list of celebrities. People need to trust that phun members are not posting amateurs or non-celebrities. They may not be known to you, but they can still be well known. Someone just posted they had to Google Ashley Judd. She has 51 credits on IMDB, been paid $millions to act, and has been nude in at least 5 films.

Everyone is a celeb to someone out there. Yeah, a vague saying but it's just such a complicated question especially in the age of the internet and social media, "What defines a celebrity?". You ask 100 people for their definition and who they most like/follow and you'll get a lot of different replies. Don't we see this on here with many celebs posted, where someone comes on and says "I have no idea who this is"? And some of them are legitimate actresses, with roles on network TV or cable, while others are bit players who are big shots on YouTube or Instagram or Tumblr or whatever app is taking off at the given time. There really seems to be no consensus on anyone, because no matter who it is you'll have people saying they aren't a real celeb or famous enough or overrated. Thus, I just see it as everyone is right in a way when it comes to this. I'll just enjoy the content and let others debate and argue over where they rank on the famous-meter :2cents::relaxed_at_computer:

Category doesnt equal quality. You could split the celeb category into actor, musician or sport-runningarounddoingstupidshit and nothing would change.
Having sub categories for very special or lesser known celebrities should be a benefit, allowing nudity models to have their own spotlight, without annoying some users by clogging the forum with hourly posts of their daily webcam shows.

Its about website navigation and amount of content - and nothing else.
Should be a win-win or wank-wank situation instead of a fight.

fighting on a site that most of us frequent to see sexy women, models, celebs, porn stars, etc, seems silly. Not trying to trivialize the arguments, I'm sure most are valid, it just seems silly to me.
I just hope any mod that has stepped aside continues to frequent the site, cool lot you all are

An actress who became famous for a major role in a TV series is clearly a celebrity.

To claim she isn't because she's choosing to do more explicit material smacks of a personal value judgment, not a factual judgment of fame -- which, as has been pointed out, is the only real, legitimate measure of celebrity.

I thought it was a real shame for JScribe to be taking that approach, as he's been a strong proponent here of treating women with respect and not shaming them over their sexual choices.
