    Actress Marg Helgenberger portrays "Catherine Willows" on the popular dramatic television series C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation. Born November 16, 1958, in Fremont, NE, Helgenberger studied drama at Northwestern University in Illinois before she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. In 1982, she landed a role in the daytime soap opera, Ryan's Hope, where she worked for the next four years. She then moved to California, appearing in guest roles in various TV shows, until she landed the role of "K.C. Koloski," in China Beach. She worked on the award-winning dramatic series from 1988 until its demise in 1991, earning an Emmy in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

    Helgenberger continued to act in both TV shows and movies over the next several years, appearing in shows such as The Larry Sanders Show and E.R., and in many made-for-TV movies, including The Tommyknockers, Lie Down With Lions, Thanks of a Grateful Nation, and Perfect Murder, Perfect Town: JonBenét and the City of Boulder. She played "Donna Jensen" in Erin Brockovich.

    In 2000, she landed the role in C.S.I., for which she received an Emmy award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

    Since 1989, Helgenberger has been married to actor Alan Rosenberg who acted alongside her in Ryan's Hope. They have one son.
