    On a side note is that snow up there on the mountains? This does not look like a good place to swim.

    My personal rule of thumb is that if I can see snow from where I'm standing it's too cold to swim in.

    Snow on the mountain doesn't mean much. Here in NY you could be in the Adirondacks, or around Naples and it's just like that. See snow on the mountains but it's 90 degrees on the ground and the water in the lake is in the 70s. Same on the west coast at places like the Sierra Nevadas

    Los Angeles could also be like that too. It'll be 90 degrees downtown and there will be snow in the mountains. :)
