Ariel is a freakin' gorgeous curvy goddess. I just hope she never ruins herself will any plastic surgery, botox, etc. Getting a breast reduction for health reasons is one thing. But hopefully she sees that she's naturally beautiful and doesn't need to change anything.

Almost all Digital photos taken by a professional will be in what end users here refer to as "HQ", in fact your common DSLR will most likely be cranking out "UHQ". Now the photos may be downsized for a number of reasons. Bandwidth in uploading them being one, it's a race to get your photos on the market. There may be 20 or more shooters who have roughly the same photos, you want yours to be the first in front of the websites or magazines. While I listed this first it isn't really a common reason. Quite often the photos will be downsized by the website or the magazine. The shooter will generally be supplying the images in a much higher quality (resolution) than is needed. Most monitors don't need/ can't use more than 100 dpi images. So the website will often decrease the original resolution to 100 or often 98 dpi. This also reduces the bandwidth needed for the photos. However a larger image at a lower resolution doesn't look as good so they'll often resize the image. Quite often people mistake the size of an image with overall quality. But people like shooters and editors who work with images know that the real determining factor in an image is resolution not size.

Again here though we are often talking about speed. Say a website has photos of a celebrity with an astonishing look on the Red Carpet (and here we have to digress for a moment, while websites like this one are popular among men and some women Phun really isn't a consumer of or the market for most Celeb or Fashion shooters. Most of these shots are going to Fashion or Celebrity websites and magazines) so time is often of the essence. If you know that site "A" often breaks a look first you will probably check them before site "B". You might not even go beyond site "A". This means of course that anyone advertising on site "A" has a better chance of having their ads seen. It also means that site "A" can charge more for its ads. In many cases you may only be talking about minutes but minutes are dollars. You get the shots, pass them quickly through whatever enhancements you may need to enter your exfil data, copyrights and tags as required, cut the resolution down and post the thumbnails and then larger images. What we on Phun would call "HQ" or "UHQ" will often come as an afterthought (if they come at all).

Most shooters concerned about real quality will probably be shooting in dual format, they get a JPEG image and a RAW image file with every exposure. Now 99% of images on the net are JPEG. RAW images however are important for shooters and certain end users. As you can guess by the term "RAW" a RAW image is one that has not gone through post processing, it is in it's full un-manipulated form. It's sometimes called a "digital negative" because it preserves the image as originally taken. In this form minute adjustments can be made to exposure or color balance or white balance to sharpness. But these are images that you aren't going to see on the net.

That's why though you will often see lower quality images first.
