  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Hotfile - What am i doing wrong

    Hope somone can help. I have purchased a Premium account with Hotfile, so now when i click a link it immediately asks me to save instead of choosing Free or Premium - which is fine.

    Yet it still says downloads are going to take 16 hours or something, at a speed of 2KB per sec.

    Anyone else have this problem, or am i doing something wrong?

    Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

    since ive logged in once, it never ask me for my login details anymore.

    i tried logging out, and clicking the link - which then takes me to the standard free or premium options. So i click premium, log in, and it then takes me to an upload page (so loses the fact i was trying to download).
    So i go back to original link again, click on it, and it begins saving straightaway at snail speed.

    Thought id ask you guys before i contact them but will probably do additionally.

    redrob, I think A LOT of people have been having problems with Hotfile download speeds lately. I think - with the recent Hotfile purging of accounts and legal heat it's facing - the founder of Hotfile is pretty much "grabbing the money and running", and pretty much not doing anything in terms of maintenance. I'll be curious to see if you get a reply back from Hotfile - if you do, drop a reply here!

    Before the legal problems, about 6 months ago, I joined hotfile for the speed. At times it was great but not much faster than free download. But at prime time, like Sunday afternoons, it was as slow as free, about 2K. It's almost as bad as mOron.
