It sounds like you might've had a bad personal experience with this stuff. They're not all like that, though of course many of them are. I think it's dishonest and unfair to make blanket statements like this though.

Spot on. Some people would be surprised to learn that many of these women have normal lives outside of the modeling work. One model I know is a professional photographer that travels the world taking photos of war-torn places. Another is an artist and filmmaker that works with bands to produce music videos. Another is working as an architect. People shouldn't make assumptions about these women just because you don't personally hold the same attitudes about modeling (or other kinds of sex work).

Honestly, this is why there should be mental health regulation among both the performers and the people paying for their content because some patrons can take things a little far in thinking they're building anything other than a financial transaction agreement between themselves and the performer.

Other sex work exists if they want physical companionship but as you said, there's a facade going on there that a lot of men don't seem to understand. That woman is messaging you on her OF account because she wants you to keep buying her stuff and helping her financially, especially during a pandemic where a lot of regular jobs have disappeared.

Most sex workers are upfront about that, most people who pay to subscribe or buy content don;t.

I remember going to Hooters (before they closed in my town) and having the waitress sit down at my booth and chat with us and smile and flirt. We had sense enough to know she was looking for a good tip. I mean I appreciated the kind service, but I also understood what she was doing.

The same thing happened to me but not at Hooters which I went to one time, the food was horrible and I felt bad for the girls having to do what they did but my experience was at Applebee's. The waitress sat down like she was a member of my family and she was flirting like crazy with me and I didn't like it. It reeked of desperation, she got her tip but it wasn't as much as she probably would've liked.

I’ve known two girls who have done OF. One regretted it and thought it was a toxic, depressing experience and the other is enthusiastic about it and how well it pays and she continues to do it, without having to have a “real” job.

So different strokes for different folks, I guess. :dunno:

:lmao::lmao: Love it, after so many of their content creators were openly announcing on there the platforms they would be on after this, suddenly OF is like "Ban porn and nudity? Who said we were gonna ban porn and nudity, we love porn and nudity(and all the money that comes from it, without it we'd be fucked), now PLEASE DONT LEAVE US".

If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if it completely backfires on them. If anything, this just proves that you can't trust a word they say.

I also recall Stone Cold Steve Austin once saying something along the lines of “Don’t never trust nobody!”, which when you think about it, means to trust practically everybody, but that’s neither here nor there.

To recap for those interested but not following the OF debacle.

First OF announces theyre banning Porn from the site. Everything apart from tasteful nude pics.
Naturaly the Content creators who are sex workers freak out. Normies laugh because OF is generally viewed as a pornsite.
Rumours circulate about the sudden desire for OF to suicide. Some news about OF wanting that sweet sweet VC money. However to qualify they need to cleanse the site of Porn.
The second rumour pushed by OF itself is that Mastercard insisted they get rid of PORN content or their services would be withdrawn. Whether true or not Mastercard released a ststement repudiating the OF statement saying they have zero interest in OF cleaning up the site and would continue to work with them eitherway.
SW content creators who comprise most of the sites business get mad and demand OF refund their subscribers who have paid for yearly or 6 month packages etc.
OF backtracks and decides not to clear porn from its site despite earlier admission that it was necessary.

Basically OF was never intended to be a pornsite. It was meant to be a hub for artists, chefs, musicians, poets, writers etc to showcase their work and monetize it.
However sex workers quickly realized the utility of the site and in time dominated its use.
OF never complained because they saw revenue increase exponentially. Bella Thorne broke records earning a million dollars in a month. A 37 year mother of 3 kids retired from nursing because she was earning 200 thousand dollars a month. Young women left college, quit their jobs, ignored traditional sex work because the OF system was appealling. Work from the safety of your own home. No physical contact. Earn money. There are lots of stories of women earning 50K or 90K monthly.
OF provided zero advertising, zero endorsement and zero incentives to subscribers. Im not sure about content creators. Nevertheless they earned 20% of the income of all content creators.
They litterally made money just providing the platform. But it apparently still wasnt enough. Smh

For anyone that still cares, this was all damage control on the part of OF when a news story broke that claimed that moderation was literally discouraged by the OF mods because they wanted that money more than they wanted an ethical platform. As a result, there were numerous instances of underage girls, prostitutes, and sex traffickers on the site. It might not have been rampant but numerous authorities went on record as saying the platform wasn't doing enough, barely anything according to some sources, to discourage illegal behavior. This was a big ask scenario. OF is going vanilla, everyone freaks, then wait, no, we're just implementing a system that will more carefully monitor ages and consent.

They already implemented that system months ago. This is just them backing off temporarily because of bad PR. If investors were involved, perhaps they also saw just how much Of would be useless after the change and backed out.

It was originally intended to be an alternative to YouTube and Instagram, with less oppressive moderation, fewer ads, and the ability to charge people directly instead of needing third party sites like Patreon.

In retrospect, I get everyone's point on my comment. We should feel sorry for most people that get into situations like this. I am sure it isn't a first career choice for most people that have anything going for them. If they are drugged or abused etc. and end up in porn because of it, it is sad and could explain the super high suicide rate in the industry.

I seriously doubt the claims that OF was never meant to be a porn site. The very first time I heard about the site was from porn star Elle Alexandra, a long time ago. Looking at her profile, the last time she logged in was in July of 2016. The site didn't officially launch until November of 2016. That means she was in on an early beta version of the site or something, which means that site was actively supporting porn from the very start.
