As a new member with a handful of comments and no pictures posted, I feel like I deserve the same treatment as admins and longtime members. I await my hand job.

When we created this sub forum we moved all the celebrity related stuff out of the Lounge, and all the social media stuff out of Celeb Photos. And for quite awhile it was just a meh forum that most people ignored until the first Fappening came along. Now we got people like you and others with short, selective memories (or who just haven't been members long enough to have been around when the is sub was born) who think it should be something other than what it is. It has evolved to be what it is organically, but the mandate has never changed. Nor will it. Celebrity Extra is the place at phun for all things celebrity that don't belong in Celeb Photos. I'm not certain what it is you think you're missing, but if it hasn't been posted here, it's not because it has been marginalized by social media images. It's a source issue. Perhaps CX isn't the source for what you're looking for. I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for elsewhere on the web.

I'm really only talking about the last few months, when there has been an explosion of mundane pics posted by a very small group who almost certainly monetize their posts. Which is fine, but it seems to result in a lot of junk to sort through.

 

I'm willing to accept that maybe I'm the only one who doesn't want to click through several pages of celebs in sweats, walking their dog, getting coffee, or shopping to find something good. I don't even go to the regular celeb section because that's pretty much all that's there. Also anything I'd post would just be a repost because this is where I go to find the stuff.

 

Some trends are unfortunate, I agree. But you never know, something unexpected and interesting may be looming on the horizon. You never know.

 

I don't really get what you're trying to say. You sound like you're blaming us for celebs not giving us leaked pics or nip slips on snapchat. I love demi lovato .If I knew how to hack her phone and get leaked pics I would post them here in a heartbeat. The people who post re doing the best that they can.Maybe you should be upset with the celebs.

 

I really don't get how your comprehension can be so bad. The complaints aren't about a lack of content. It's not wanting to scroll through pages of garbage to find something good. Ie people need to stop posting garbage.

 

I'm saying that myself and lot's of members here post. If I'm doing such a bad job the you can post all you want.The stuff that spider brings here is not crap.

 

I just think it's a little rude to say what you don't want and then don't post anything.

 

One man's treasure is another man's trash. So how do you make that determination, and what's more, reach a quorum on it? And another thing: Why would you openly discourage members from posting content, regardless of what you think of it? It's not only folly, it's a fool's errand. Instead of complaining about what's being posted, why not take the time to compliment the people who make the effort to bring fresh content to the forum every day? No one's forcing you to scroll through anything, but it's nice to know it's there. And better yet, it's nice to know that we still have a lot of members contributing content despite the fact that some members don't appreciate it.

Oh no not "lurkers" and "leaches". You mean the people who view this site without logging in or signing up? I.e; the people who keep this site running and (I assume) profitable? Yeah, why don't you lock everything for anyone who isn't signed up and then lock all the good stuff based on how many likes you have, see how long the site bleeds ad revenue and views until it shuts down. What I don't understand, is how anyone could be so arrogant and close minded that they don't accept opinions from anyone "below" them. OP's post was respectful and spot on, but all the OG cool kids took it as a personal insult, without even a basic understanding of what he was saying.


I also find it odd, that in January you started a thread asking people for suggestions of other sites like Phun that "actually work where you can post content without the hassel of this sham of a forum."

Lock up all the profitable content to anyone who has a job or is in school and doesn't have time to machine gun useless posts all day. That's exactly what a website that relies on ads and views needs.. It's mind blowing that you think the number of posts you have or how long ago you signed up makes you important at all. This happens on every forum eventually, a small group of "powerful" users think their more important or more valuable than anyone below them. No one here is taking these pictures or hacking into cellphones, at most you're REPOSTING someone else's content. You're not special, any 10 year old with an IPad can do the same thing.


I wasn't going to say anything until I saw how elitist, defensive and irrational you guys are getting. I don't see anything wrong with anything the OP or the other guy have said. I agree with them, I think you'd be surprised by how many other people feel the same. This sh*t is ridiculous, the same way the "cool kids" gang up on noobs for asking "dumb questions". I don't care if some a**hole on reddit has 1,000,000 posts, he's still an asshole. Some of the coolest, most intelligent and respectful people I've talked to online have been "noobs". Why would the number of posts on a celebrity forum dictate how much respect you show to another person? I respect everyone until they give me a reason not to. I don't care if your an a**hole with 1 million posts or likes,

Put that on your resume. "I have 18,000+ posts and 39,000+ likes on forum.phun.org". Out of 7.4 Billion people on this planet, you're one of a few likemindedly delusional people who cares how many posts you have on any website, or how long you've been a member. Out of all those "super important" 1 sentence posts you've made in almost 10 years, you've 186 threads. You're not curing cancer or inventing the IPhone.


You're just one user, aside from users like Spider who consistently drop valuable content, no one is signing up or checking Phun everyday to see what you have to say. Your so close minded and defensive that you can't even comprehend what anyone who doesn't agree with you is saying. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a Leftist. The issue isn't a lack of good content, the issue is an avalanche of everything else.


You can continue to delude yourself into believing that this is not a "porn/leak" forum but the numbers disagree. That is what brings people to this site, those threads are far and away the threads with the highest view counts. In demand content and views are all that matter. If that gets buried or stops all together, someone somewhere else will do it.


I don't understand the need to be an a**hole to people "lower" than you, why wouldn't you just be cool? Is your real life that sh*tty or does your boss pick on you, so the only way you can feel better about yourself is to sh*t on people you don't know?

Sorry, I know I can be "long winded" (or long fingered?) and tend to ramble a lot. I just think everyone should be cool to each other, until they give you a reason to be a d*ck. I guess I should have just said, don't treat people like garbage because of some arbitrary "achievements".

Fair call maybe someone likes it. But judging by the views and posts on Insta threads it's not very many.
Why not start a social media forum then for those?

To be honest though I don't care that much either, what akomplice said it spot on and pretty much the same reason I commented. Pretty pathetic some people think they are better then others because they scour social media and sit on a porn site all day.

Their are 1 or 2 posters who posted the leaks that did good work. But no I have no appreciation for someone who just takes a pic of a slight bit of cleavage from Instagram.

 

I don't particularly care how many posts someone has anymore, and am glad that stat is no longer openly displayed. Although I do think the number of liked posts someone has is a good measure of their character. Regardless, the owner of this forum never has and never will deny people access to the content contained within. It just ain't his style, and the staff here couldn't agree more.

 

Instagram is pretty popular though, and there's no denying it. I follow a gangload of models and hotties and a bunch of celebs, but I don't follow the same women spider follows, or Justin or ironmike or Da'Pimp, so I appreciate the heads up when they post something I find of interest. They're not all hits, but shit, that's life, right? There's plenty of room on this forum for tastes of all kinds, and they don't need to be segregated. We could easily have gone the route of other boards whose sub-forums are highly specialized, but we feel that detracts from the sense of community that phun is known for. We're like a tavern here. Not everyone is drinking the same cocktail, but we're all together having a good time. And that's really our aim.

 

I agree, and while I've only ever posted in Extra, I've never seen mods/staff going off on power trips editing or deleting posts because they don't like the person (Like Reddit and another Celebrity forum).

If you're cool, people will treat you the same (aside from a few professional a**holes) but at the same time people will call you out if you're acting like a jacka**.

It seems like overall, there's an aspect of meritocracy on this site that I like. I really like this forum, I don't think there are any sites that have the same personality or format. That said, I can definitely understand how people can feel certain ways and human beings react violently to (perceived) change.



I stick to what I like and what interests me and try to avoid the rest, especially the drama. That's the reason I avoid posting Emma Watson, Ariel Winter and Political threads like the plague



I also believe the number of likes given is almost as important as the number of likes received. If someone has thousands of likes but can't be bothered to return the gesture, that shows something.

People come and go, usually in sync with the leaks but there are a lot of us that stick around, that don't have high post counts.

 

If there weren't people hawkeyeing celebrity's on Social Media, we would never see all the pictures celebrities "accidentally" post and immediately delete. That's not a world I want to live in.

It's like the old question, "If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
