Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     Just need a bit of help.
    I've been asked to create some watermarks, but lol, I dunno where to start.
    Here are some I've drawn up going by what he asked for, but I dunno what size I should make them and are they supposed to be translucent?
    He wanted white and black versions.

    The white versions are there but seem invisible, but they're the same as the black, but here they are in quotes...

    I like the 1st one best, looks more professional.

    I think if you were using illustrator it'd be better because you could make them vector images, meaning they could be resized without any loss in quality. Because he might want them to appear larger on certain images.

    Either way though, I'd send in the first one.

    What's illustrator? Is it a separate program that needs to be downloaded?

    Yeah, it's part of Adobe Creative Suite or you can get it separate. It's very similar to Photoshop but it deals in vector images. It's more for commercial use and I don't use it myself, my brothers a graphic designer though so I have used it in the past. Frankly it's complicated as hell!

    I don't think that's grounds for you to worry about it though, it'd be different if the guy was paying for all this or something. ;)

    I'll cast a vote for the first one, too - although I'd make the waves lighter gray on the dark version...and darken them a little on the white version.

    As for buying Illustrator just to work in vector - I'd simply save them as a .psd format. I use a lot of watermarks on our images and resize them as needed from .psd - it retains the edge integrity fairly well for watermarking purposes.

    the idea of a watermark is that it is almost invisible but still visible enough to be noticed.
    So I'd go for the first one too, as it meets those requirement, as for the second one in my opinion the Copymark logo is a waste of space..

    also I should save it as .psd too, no need for a different program to be used.

    usually a watermark logo has 2 versions black and white. I like png files for lgos because of native transparency. I think of png as the modern day gif file.
    I use inkscape for vector based these days. Mainly because it's free; but also because anything that causes adobe pain or lost profits is a good thing imo.
