Why Rapidshare?

I don't want my files I upload deleted either. Show me a better place where my files will only be deleted by me and with the speeds I get with RapidShare with a monthly fee of nothing and I will upload my stuff there.

 

Haha, I am saying that anyone that joins to keep files online is foolish. Yes, you can download more than 150 MB per hour with a membership. I don't pay. Most won't either. As i said, keyword is freehost. The reason some of your old uploads survive is due to reposting. I can show you a place that is full of phun stuff. One drawback with reposting is it increases the chance of the copyright owner to find it, and have RS kill it. No good.

Now, let's pretend that phun is just like it was. Old posts back on page 52 wouldn't get seen often without a search. So why pay to keep a file online? Especially since only those with memerships or in desperate need are going to want it. A better way to keep files alive is to strategically repost them yourself in various places. I belong to some very exclusive forums and do just that. I lose a few at times, but I can simply reup them if the thread is current.

Also, what surprises me is uploaders make poor choices when upping to R/S. Say they have four 24 MB files. They make 4 uploads to rapid share. result? you have to wait 4 hours to get them all. Much smarter to zip them up and make 1 upload. even if someone has one of the files, this is better for getting the download faster.

You upload because you want to share. Uploading to Rapid Share deprives more people from acquiring it than other freehosts would. I have downloaded over 700 MB from sexuploader in a short time before it told me to wait.

Yeah, I am cheap. I don't need to pay. I can get a pass into just about any porn site there is. When you do good things for the right people, they reward you.

I stand by my statement, Rapid Share is the worst.

 

See here is the difference.......I U/L to RS to share, not to post to forums. Sure I have a bunch of RS links out there for people to use, but it generally because someone had requested a set of pics to be zipped up anyway. I have already zipped for KMF, what's one more step and U/L to RS.

The "smaller" files that we share here now fit pretty good with those non-RS members.

And Fan your not the only one who gets virtualy all the passes you need or want, it's what you do with them after you have them that makes the difference.

 

yeah, rapid share doesn't affect this place much, but elsewhere it sure does! I get my passes from an admin of a private board. Then I post a site rip, or something else nice with an ftp gallery. he quite happily fulfills my next request.

i've seen it up to 500 sometimes. but 250-300 is the average.

So, with those speeds, why the hell wouldn't I upload to RS?

 

Thats great for what "you" do smoked....big vids, huge files in general; however, for our intents and purposes there is nothing "wrong" with RS.......and I notice that you DO use RS alot.....Thanks for the Good the Bad and the Ugly, Fistful of Dollars, Few Dollars more, High Planes Drifter, and the Outlaw Josie Wales............Oh all Downloaded using RS in one short day. All over what 700-1400 Mb?

 

because, as I note above, few people are going to be able to download your stuff, unless they pay to join. If they see other things on rapid share they want more, your file may not get downloaded much at all, and fall back in the queue and die. The more people that can download it, the more chances your thread has to get replies, and live on whatever board you post it at.

I don't mean to get under anyone's skin, but the proof is there, Rapid Share is the worst freehost for sharing.

That's great that you have the time to browse and upload stuff on other forums. I'm lucky to get a solid hour or two to browse and most of that is done here. You still run the risk of having your files deleted and I don't store a lot of porn on my computer or in the house so I would lose access to most of my files if I needed them again for some reason. Plus not all the files I upload are porn related. I do use it for work also.

I think anyone complaining that they can't get free porn fast enough needs to shut their computer off and take a walk outside or something because they might have a problem.

I have access to all of the content from the pornsites I am interested in as well but what does that have to do with RapidShare?

For me the bottom line on any problems someone has with whatever file host is that if someone is nice enough to share some free porn with you don't bitch that you can't get fast enough. If you want it that bad or it's that good your gonna wait for that slow ass download or come back when your hour wait is over to get it. Just enjoy the free porn.

Oh and the fact that RapidShare only gives you points for downloads from free-users and I have enough points to convert for 13 months of membership says plenty of non-premium account holders have no problems with RapidShare.

 

I have plenty of evidence! You just aren't reading what I say! Ok, here you go with an example of how the download limits affect people:

Someone ripped Kate's playground and posted on rapid share at another board. What are there, 300 sets? some of the earlier ones are small in MB, but after awhile, you can only download one set per hour. suppose you devote 6 hours a day to get the stuff, that is 50 days to get it all! And what else can you download in that time! Nothing, or wait longer for Kate! now, if they had posted 500 MB zips on sexuploader, or 1 gig zips on Bodango, it would take just a few days to get it all. Every rapid share post competes against the others. If your post isn't stellar, and the board you put it on is high traffic, with few replies (leechers) good luck on getting the downloads.

Yeah, congrats on 9,000 downloads and your RS that is free. you would have had many more downloads on another freehost.

Yeah, I am going to call it the worst, simply because of the download limits and the fact that you find rapid share in use everywhere on the net. you can disagree with me all you want, but log off your RS account and try and get stuff, see what everyone else has to go through. Remember www.BaDongo.net kicks R/S's ass any day. And, you can get a membership there if you want and it will keep your files.

I could also quote many a post from other places with unhappy members who see R/S posts. It is getting banned at some of the better boards. They simply need to change. 100-200 MB download per hour and it is acceptable. I once downloaded a 55 MB movie. I lost internet connection after 3 MB were downloaded. I reconnected and tried to download again. I got a message "You have downloaded 3 MB, please wait another 72 minutes". Bullshit.

oh, by the way, I don't download much from freehosts. So, honestly, I don't care what people use. But others do. This is why I am bringing some facts to the attention of people who upload to Rapid Share. I get most of my quality stuff from either a pass to a site, or from an ftp gallery that my picture ripper will quite happily download. Some people at places I belong to upload 4 gigs of pics by ftp using Arles on 1 freehost. I just turn my ripper on and a day later it is mine.

Also, I did have a RS premium account at one time. You do feel differently about it when you have one. You change your thinking when you don't have it anymore. And most people don't.

 

Hey here's an idea.........don't rip their site. Oh do I download stuff off sites that I have "access to" sure. But you won't see me share all the Gigs and Gigs of material that I may have access to. Call me old fashioned but I still believe that these girls need to make a living somehow, and by ripping their site your not really helping them much.......My feelings are a bit different when it comes to professional studio type movies...say vivid, redlight, etc... Sure there may be some harm done, but the vast majority of the people that see those movies are still going to the local adult movie store, buying the DVD or tape going home and jerking off. In most cases whether it's Kate or Ashleigh or even Lauren, most of their livelyhood comes direct from the net.....sure they offer DVD's off their site, but that's such a small percentage of their sales........You burn up Kate and share it on one of the larger boards, next thing you know she has no paying members because all her stuff is out there for free. Then you lose Kate altogether. A little short sighted.

........I guess none of that has anything to do with RS vs. any other host, but you justification on why you use a host that can download their whole site in a matter of a couple days is a little weak.

 

This threads funny and im almost bored with it, but until then here goes...

I mainly upload these days for the RS points to keep my account free. I do this easily and i already have 16 months worth of account renewals saved up.
So why should I care if i would have had more downloads with a another freehost? I know this, it is useless to me.

Better boards? Well, luckily i am a member in good standing of the no1 porn sharing board on the net, and u know what? Everyone who is anyone there uses RS to host their files. (95% or more of the members)

Well, 2 years ago, RS only allowed files up to 20 MB. Then they moved to 30, 50, and finally 100 MB. Why? Freehost competition. Eventually, they are probably going to void all the promotions and make you guys pay $ every month to stay a member. This means it will crash/burn/die, unless they increase the hourly download limit. The hourly download limit is already beaten, big time elsewhere.

I feel sorry for the members at your board where 95% of the uploaders use RS. Unless they join themselves, they won't get much, I have noted this.

Hey, it's a healthy discussion, but without a premium account, you are screwed with this server. That is undisputable. But what the hell, it is only porn, no one's life rides on this.
