I'm sorry, but "the sister of an A-lister"?????

In what reality is Vanessa Hudgens considered an A-lister? I'm not sure that she's even a B-lister (maybe a low end one), let alone A-lister... just because she got to play a role in a movie that got an Oscar nod (for best actor and editing) does not suddenly make her an A-lister. Especially since movie posters don't even mention her except in the small script... there is no big "Vanessa Hudgens" on those posters.

 

As long as this thread stays on topic and remains civil, we'll keep it open. If it deviates from either, it's locked.

What MrFreedom says. I also wonder what an actual A-lister is. How does an A-lister get defined? Vanessa had a very rich career, and is still doing multiple projects, has multiple initiatives as an entrepreneur, also consciously decided she doesn't wnat to work constantly. Enjoying life is really important to her.

To me, she is an A-lister, very well respected in Hollywood. Especially with how Disney owns most of it - and she still refuses to work with them - it's nothing more than impressive.

 

For a Hollywood actor, if your name is not on the film posters and you're not the one doing all the main promo interviews for the film, you're not an A-lister. You can still be a successful actor without being a top star.

 

What a dumb criteria. Her name is on plenty of posters. The lead & main supporting roles are on the posters, has nothing to do with status. Sometimes, they want to use a name to attract people, sure, but 99,9% of the time just the main cast are on the posters.

 

A-listers don't make Hallmark movies and they don't let their little sister sell themselves out on the internet to pay for the bills. Just because you think an actress is hot, doesn't make them an A-lister.

 

So....Scarlet Johansson is in the same level as Vanessa Hudgens!
Next thing we'll hear is that Jordyn Jones is a Top Model!

 

Eh no? Just as the same that Johansson isn't in the same league as Jennifer Lawrence, doesn't make Johansson a B-lister. If your criteria is so flawed it's hard to determine what an A-lister is.

 

She’s no A-lister. She gets supporting roles in musicals and that’s about it. No wonder she’s pushing her water brand so hard.
